Playing catch-up

Fresh (almost) daily from Julie Barrett

I'll ramble a bit today. A link here, an opinion there.

Thanks again for the kind words. They do mean a lot.

For the knitters: a Leia hat.

For those who watch politics like football: Kinky wants to legalize marijuana. (The link may require registration. Sorry.) Ain't gonna happen. One of his points makes sense. We don't have enough room to hold all the violent criminals as it is. In my mind a little grass isn't on the same scale as multiple violent crimes. But if California can't even figure out how to make marijuana legal on a prescription basis, then I can't see it being legalized in Texas. But then, I live in a school district that uses a math curriculum California rejected as being too radical. Oops.

No doubt about it, Kinky is nothing if not provacative.

Still working on getting music together for the Fencon panel. I make one last trip today and that's my cut-off point. Next, I get to research all of the bits.

Still thinking about a podcast. I'm also mulling over a podcast using terribly obscure records. I've run across a lot of documentary and corporate material that is just amazing. Really, it's the audio equivalent of those horrid films we had to watch in school. Think that might make a good podcast?

There's a big part of me that still misses doing daily radio, even though it's been close to twenty years. Yeah, I'm a masochist.

The end of an era: 111 Dallas Morning News employees accept a buyout. (Again, may require registration. Sorry.) Many long-time employees are taking the voluntary package. It will be a different paper.

Need to get moving. Lots to do again. And as always, thanks for your support.
