I must say that it's been interesting to watch the transition to Zooomr Mark III - literally. They've been streaming video for about three days now. It's been really interesting to watch Kristopher Tate and Thomas Hawk talk about their plans for the photo sharing service.
There have been some glitches, though, which is why they're not back up.
It's certainly provided a much-needed distraction while I've been banging away at the computer.
And since you asked (okay, you were thinking about it - right?), things are starting to get stable again. I think I'm going to let things settle in for a day or two and then see what happens when I add a drive for backing up data.
My only problem was that I managed to really louse up an install of a semi-critical piece of software (pilot error due to lack of sleep), but a quick rollback fixed things. Wow, I'm liking that feature. I think I only used it once in XP.
My other distraction this week has been cleaning and organizing the space under my desk. That is the true black hole of my office. My computer sits on a big corner desk piece. There's lots and lots of space under there, but it had morphed into a tangle of wires and there was very little room for my feet. I unplugged and rerouted most of the cables and coiled up excess bits with some zip tape. Then I attached the large coils to the side of the desk with Velcro (R) tape. I also used the stuff to mount a surge protector on the side of the desk. Once I get my computer back in place it's going to look good - I hope. At the very least I'll be able to trace cable runs with minimal fuss.
I'll need to attack the top of the desk - again! - next. I've got packaging and discs everywhere. THEN I get to finish up the last bits o' stuff for Soonercon.
That along with regular work and family stuff. And wow, Monday is a holiday, isn't it? Kinda snuck up on me.
I'm getting sleep. Better wrap this up. As usual, thanks for stopping in!
