Thanks for the comments on Friday's Weekend Assignment. So, lets recap the "facts" and explain all, shall we:
1. Back in my deep, dark past I used to work in Christian radio. Absolutely true. I spent five years at a Christian radio station. It was, as far as those things go, very cool. We ran an eclectic mix of (mostly) religious programming, but we even had a half hour of Czech music on Sundays. I kid you not. I did the farm reports, but I did not get a Silver Sow award. I did, however, get a notepad and a coffee mug from the Ag folks. I can tell you're impressed. ;-)
2. There's no business like show business, and once I was an extra in a Star Trek: Enterprise episode. It's a lie. The grain of truth? I was an extra in Necessary Roughness, which starred Scott Bakula, who went on to play Captain Archer. And for what it's worth, camera I own was used in the press corps for JFK. Thus endeth my brush with stardom.
3. I once had a beer with Leonard Nimoy. Yessir! It was 1976, very close to the 10th anniversary of the airing of the first episode of Star Trek. The university I attended brought him in to speak. We had a dinner planned before his talk. Mr. Nimoy explained that he never ate before he worked ... but he would love a beer afterwards. One guy in the group was good friends with someone who ran a local drinking establishment, and we took over their beer garden for a couple of hours after his talk. (I guess I should note that the drinking age in Texas at the time was eighteen.) We drank beer, ate nachos, and talked about everything except Star Trek. It was a grand evening. And no, no one got even the slightest bit sloshed.
Thanks everyone, for stopping in.
