Monday Mumblings

At last! A real entry! Of sorts.

I have to admit that I haven't had much incentive to post lately. If it hadn't been for the fact that I'm determined to post one Food Fair entry per day until Christmas, I probably would have done the virtual equivalent of crawling under the covers for a couple of weeks.

Yes, I am still bummed. And we'll leave it at that.

I've also been busy with the Catmas Card. I'm sorry to say that I really didn't feel like Christmas shopping (or decorating) until today. But that, I suppose, is part of being bummed right now. I shall get over it.

If you're on the paper Catmas Card list, hopefully yours will arrive in the mail by Monday.

Yesterday Paul and I went out to a newish B&N to do a little shopping. Wow. Traffic was the pits. We were expecting lots of traffic, but this was more than we'd bargained for. I did pick up a copy of  Gastroanomalies: Questionable Culinary Creations from the Golden Age of American Cookery, by James Lileks. If you think I've dug up some odd stuff for the Food Fair, you really need to check James Lileks out. I've linked to his site in the blogroll, but buy his book. You won't regret it. And if you like it (and I know you will), he's got several others in the same vein. Very funny stuff.

I also picked up a book on photography lighting techniques, plus our 2008 calendars. Oops. Almost typed 2007. Well, you know how I procrastinate.

Time to finish some laundry and get some cards ready for the mail tomorrow.

Take care.
