Long Day, But Good

Chris and I spent the day at my mother's house, hooking up her new HDTV. Yesterday the tech arrived to install her new fiberoptic TV and Internet service, and so we went out today to put the last pieces together for her.

She's replaced her massive home entertainment system with a low, minimalist unit. It makes for quite a change.

We finished the job, turned on the TV, and waited forever for the box to sync back up with the network. Once it was ready, we were presented with a brilliant picture. My mother was impressed - until Chris pointed out that it was standard definition. So we fiddled with channels and settings and finally got an HD signal to display.

It's gorgeous. She and my sister (who still lives at home) will be fighting tooth and nail for that TV. I think Mom will win.

Now she wants a Wii. You go, Mom!
