Hope you'll join us at FenCon this weekend. Here's my schedule, with my notes in italics:
Friday 6:00 PM Oak Ballroom Is There A Dr. in the "House"? (M)
Description: Gregory House is in as pros and fans discuss the hit medical drama. Who knew that complex medical cases could be this much fun?
Show producer Doris Egan will also be on this panel. ___________________________
Friday 8:00 PM Trinity 3 Return of the Golden Throats of SF
Description: Once again the Generic Radio Workshop presents celebrity singing gone very wrong. Attend at your own risk. Earplugs optional. Prizes of dubious value will be awarded.
Ah, yes. There WILL be prizes. Play "guess the 'artist.'" ___________________________
Saturday 1:00 PM Director's Generic Radio Workshop Auditions/Rehearsal (M)
Description: Be a part of a radio play performed during the Cabaret!
We'll be casting for both males and females. It's a short script this year, but it should be fun. ___________________________
Saturday 7:00 PM Trinity 3 Crime's Against Literature, Part the Third
Description: Bad speeling! Rotten punctuation!?! Urple, er, purple, prose! Yes, it's the worst that literature has to offer. Why is there so much of this around? Bring your own barf bags.
___________________________
Sunday 11:00 AM Trinity 6 Publishing Scams and How to Avoid Them
Description: Learn how to separate the good guys (and gals) in the publishing industry from those just out to take your money.
While I'm at it, I'd like to plug Saturday's Publishing 101 workshop with co-panelist P.N. Elrod and Rachel Caine. It's a two-hour workshop designed to educate writers about the ins and outs of the publishing industry. ___________________________
Sunday 2:00 PM Trinity 3 FenCon V in Review
Description: Here's your chance to give feedback to the convention organizers. What did you enjoy? What can we improve?
They're going to put me on the firing line this year. Bring on the rotten veggies!
Don't forget about the Cabaret on Saturday night (those scripts are coming off the printer now) and the House Party later that evening.
Hope to see you this weekend!
