Weekend Assignment: Roughing It

Fresh when it gets here from Julie Barrett
Friday, January 30, 2009

You've got no electricity, no Internet, no phone, and no car for two whole days. What do you do with yourself?

Tackle the "to be read" pile. I'll read by candlelight.

Extra Credit: What do you usually do in real life when a power shortage leaves you in the dark?

I read and I write. I have paper, pen and even a manual typewriter.

If I have work to get done, I'll use the notebook computer for as long as the charge will last, or take it somewhere with power. Or more likely, I'll use the power outage as an excuse to goof off catch up on reading.

I'm not surprised you have a manual typewriter. But to actually use it? Amazing!
