Waiting On A Phone Call .... Or Something Like It

Fresh when it gets here from Julie Barrett

I've spent the entire week in waiting mode - sort of.

As I had to wait on someone to reach me, I decided to get busy with a project on which I'd been procrastinating for a few weeks. I accomplished a lot. Still didn't get the phone call.

The phone did ring, during dinner. After the meal I wrapped up a couple of loose ends on the project, finished the last few pages of a book, then decided I'd better check into the phone call, just in case it might have been the call I was waiting for. I tracked the number down, and apparently it's connected with someone making calls on behalf of charitable organization. Nah, we don't need to send you a donation packet. Just write us a check and put it in a plastic bag under the doormat. We'll pick it up.

I happen to know some people connected with a branch of this organization and know that's not how they do business. They're as above board as it gets and would NEVER pull a stunt like that.

Why yes, I did finish a book this week. Read Jim Butcher's Turn Coat, and a darned good read it was. I won't spoil it, but I will say I need to go back and read it again. That's the damned tough part about being a writer: I can't always turn that mode off when I read. Oh, and there was one line about 3/4 through that had me laughing so hard I hard I nearly had to change my clothes.

I'll probably be posting tomorrow. Sorry about the light blogging, but dang, I actually was making progress on this project and hated to stop. I'll try not to be such a good girl next time. ;-)
