Weekend Assignment: On the Move
Fresh when it gets here from

Do you tend to settle in one place and stay there, or do circumstances or inclination dictate that you move fairly often across the street or across the country? Do you feel you've found your "forever" locale, if not your "forever" home?
We tend follow the boring route and not move around. We found a nice apartment before we got married (Paul moved in and I joined him on our wedding day. See? Very boring and conventional) and we stayed there until we found Stately Barrett Manor. We've been ensconced here for 25 years. Yes, that means the end of house payments is in sight. Relocating to a new abode now would seem like a bad move, pun intended.
Boring, yes. But this is one of those situations where boring is a good thing.
Extra Credit: To the best of your recollection, how many times in your life have you moved?
Let's count together, shall we?
1. My family moved to Texas from Kansas when I was five (and yes, I had a little dog) and we stayed in a rental for a year or so until my parents found a house to purchase.
2. We moved a few blocks away from the rent house.
3. We moved to Maryland to follow my dad on a temporary long-term assignment for his job.
4. Eighteen months later we moved back to the same house, which we'd rented out while we were away. That is still the family home.
5. I got married and moved in with Paul.
6. We moved to this place.
If it weren't for the sojourn to Maryland, I could count the number of times I've moved on one hand. And honestly, I've only lived in one area for most of my life. Yep, pretty boring.
