If You Don't Like the Weather in Texas...

...just wait a few minutes, or so states local wisdom.

Which partly explains why I'm up at dark thirty. We have a cold front moving through. The forecast high for this afternoon is a whopping five degrees cooler than yesterday. Tuesday's high was 97F. Pardon me while I break out the sweaters.

Just to make things interesting, I'm in the throes of an allergy attack: runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes - I'm sure you know the drill. And I had to make things worse by going out and brushing a layer of cottonwood fluff off of the A/C unit. So really, I only have myself to blame. Yes, I've taken allergy meds, which should have kicked in by now.

Bizarre spam subject line of the weekend: a statement that the majority of men are under average in the "personality" department. I wonder if this might be related to the "Lake Woebegon Effect?" If the children are all above average, then the men all need blue pills. The mathematics of spam. There's an IgNobel Prize-winning paper in that, I'll bet.

Ah, now I think the allergy meds are finally kicking in. Back to bed - after I reset the alarm. We had a power glitch ahead of the first round of rain. And now it's 70F. In Texas. In June. I'd better throw a blanket on the bed.
