Monday Mumblings buys some fabric

I'm going to make a Victorian skirt. I've been contemplating this for a while, but haven't been happy with any of the fabric I've seen. I found something on sale today, and now am working on the pattern. I found one I like online, but there's a couple of problems. One is that the patterns all print out to a single sheet of paper. The other is that I'm terrible at converting measurements and scaling. I think I have it right, though. I've scaled the pattern in Photoshop to lay out on 60" fabric (folded) then moved it to Corel where I'm printing it tiled on 11x17" sheets of paper.

I'm going to be a sewing fool this week. I'm already planning on tailoring a jacket. Then I get busy on some new photography.

This is going to be perfect weather for sewing because I need something to keep me moving this week, and I won't be able to go outdoors. We have some winter weather moving in. Rain will hit by midnight, followed by a cold front before 7:00 in the morning, followed by sleet and snow. Exactly what's going to stick and when depends on how far the temperatures have dropped by the time tomorrow's round of precipitation arrives.

Why yes, I DID go grocery shopping, thank you.

I'll probably check in off and on tomorrow. But for now it's back to pattern construction.
