I'm getting ready to dig in and do some work for a client, but before I get started I want to offer up some more information on Saturday's post, plus a couple of links. The second person I mentioned on my post got hit with a blended threat similar to this one mentioned at CXOtoday.com. Their issue was fixed by this walkthrough at lockgergnome.com.
Remember, I can't offer one-on-one tech support, and any of these things you try you do at your own risk. (Yeah, I'm covering my tail.) Once you've cleaned an infection be sure you're still up-to-date on Windows patches and you have the latest signatures for your anti-virus software.
