Virtual jet lag

That's probably the best way to describe how I feel today. You know what I'm talking about: Two or three days after a long trip over a couple of time zones everything catches up to you. I'm still trying to catch up on sleep and I must admit that I'm not making any progress. So many things to do. I go to bed and my brain simply races. Right now I'm so tired that I don't even trust myself to drive very far.

It's an absolutely gorgeous day - already 60F with a predicted high of 78F. My cunning plan for today is house work and bills. I'm about to lose sight of the top of my desk again. I've been so busy with DI and other things that I've just let the stack o' crap grow. I need to find the top of the desk again so I can pile the next project! Yes, I have a next project, but I'm waiting on the i's to be dotted and the t's to be crossed before I start to talk about hit. Hint: It's audio theatre-related.

Work on the new version of the site and blog continues at a snail's pace. I'm having a terrible time with the databases. I keep telling myself that it's good for me to learn these new skills and that the site will look and work great in the end, but now it's just plain frustrating. I'm attempting to move the database from Access to SQL Server. That means very little if you're not a geek, I suppose. What you will hopefully see is somewhat better performance and the ability to leave a comment on the same page as the journal entry. The layout will be similar, but I'm struggling with the calendar. Right now the problem is updating the database. I'm sure I'm missing something very fundamental, which is another reason I want to take a break and clean house. This is similar to writing for me in that when I put a problem on the back burner and do something completely unreleated the answer will more often than not bubble to the surface.

So there ya go. Lots to do. Very little time. And I'm taking a break from it.
