Still alive
I´ve been up to my neck in a couple of projects these days. Hey, a paycheck is a nice thing! ;-)
We´ve had a short respite from the heat here in Texas, and I must say it was
nice to actually breathe without the aid of further medication. (One day I´ll
write about the air around here.)

Attention,
Telemarketers!
When you call, don´t treat me as though I´m your best friend. I´m not. And
don´t try to tell me that you´ve already talked to me to confirm that a salesman
will call. You haven´t. Go away.

I really CAN
spell...
That´s what I get for blogging from a phone while standing in harsh sunlight.
Couldn´t see the screen well...

Grr.
Rant time. I just spent 10 minutes sitting in the carpool lane at the school
because some parents thought the red "FIRE LANE" designation actually meant
"PARKING LOT." Why is it that some parents lose all common sense when it comes
time to pick up and drop their kids at school? I can´t tell you the number of
times I´ve waited behind some parent who has to let the kid off right in front
of the door, then watch as their precious child slowly vanishes down the hall.
Folks, if you´re that paranoid over making sure your kids gets into the
classroom, park and escort your child yourself.

Meant to
mention this yesterday
Salam Pax is

They make for interesting reading.

Catching up
Well, the show went great, and we got a fairly decent review. I´m bushed. It always takes me a few days to recover from these things.
Just got back from the middle school choir concert. Chris had a solo, and did
pretty good. He did "Faith of the Heart." (Yeah, the song they use as the theme
for "Enterprise.") I felt sorry for one young lady. They got her started in the
wrong key, and had to start her song all over again. She was terribly
embarrassed, but I tell you, she did a great job, and didn´t let her nerves take
over until after it was all over. Great job!

I am at once
proud and scared
Chris made it back on the A/B honor roll. Much rejoicing.
Then, on the way home he proceeded to do a dead-on impression of Regis
Philbin on
Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. Be afraid.

Ch-ch-ch-changes
Nothing much, but I´ve fixed the formatting and added a link to the timestamp which brings up only the entry in question. Great for linking...
What, you ask? You´re not using commercial software? In my ever-continuing
quest to learn more about Active Server Pages, I decided it would be in my best
interest to try and write my own blogging tools.
