So who was Modest Moussorgsky, anyway?
Moussorgsky was a composer famous for the opera Boris Godunov (as opposed to the Russian spy of cartoon fame), Night on Bald Mountain, and Song of the Flea, the opening line of which was used by Tom Lehrer in his song, Lobachevsky. I suppose it would be fair use to say the line translates to "Once upon a time a king had a pet flea." It is, after all, "research."
The picture depects his birthplace in Karevo, Russia.
