Welcome to
Stately Barrett Manor
Massive, hand-wrought and Pictured Vases, Japanese Section, Palace of Varied Industries.
From the back: This is another view of Japanese work in the Palace of Varied Industries. This pottery is made in Japan by native processes and decorated by native artists who often spend weeks and months on a single piece. The Exposition being at the same time of the Russo-Japanese war, and the large majority of visitors sympathizing with the Japanese, great interest was taken in every product of that nation and their sections and booths were very popular and all Japanese men and women at the Exposition of whom there were hundreds, were almost idolized. And among the distinguished visitors was the Japanese prince.
