Fast update

Fresh when it gets here from Julie Barrett

Sorry about the lack of web site access this afternoon. There was a problem with the hosting service. It'll be tomorrow afternoon before I manage to get the RR posted. It has, alas, been one of those kinds of days.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth I decided to sign up for National Write a Novel Month. This is probably asking for trouble. The last time I did this all hell broke loose, and we're still recovering from it. So sit back and watch: This could be a mess.

I will leave you with a picture. Last night when I took out the stuff to the recycle bin, I heard a THUNK! in the bottom of my container. (I keep a container in the kitchen that I empty in the big bin outdoors.) In the bottom of the container was a pretty good-sized gecko. This is him on the patio. Pardon the paint stains.

Thatfellow is pretty well camouflaged on that patio! It always floors me how delicate a gecko's skin looks, compared to that of a lizard. How do they survive the hot and spiny desert?
