Had to take my contacts out due to allergies, which means I won't see well (even with glasses) for a few hours. This will be a short post with some pictures.
I decided it would be nice to go on a picture shoot today, so I went just a couple of miles down the road to Bowman Cemetery. The graves date from about 1868 to 1921. Some of the headstones are in pieces, and recent attempts at repair have been made. I'm not sure how much of the damage is due to age or vandalism. At least the two fenced-in areas of the boneyard have relatively intact markers.
Between the cemetery and the road is a swath of land that has been planted with wildflowers. Butterflies were everywhere. Unfortunately the wind was picking up and I had far less luck snapping pictures of flowers than I did of headstones. The latter tends not to sway in the wind.
So here are a few pictures. If you'd like to see more, visit my Zooomr page.
