Photosharing site Zooomr re-launched overnight.

There have been plenty of bugs to work out, and Kris has been going non-stop to fix them. The site is looking really good. One of the cool things about Zooomr (as opposed to other sites) is that you can upload an unlimited number of pictures at unlimited sizes for free. How do they make money? Ads, for one. For $19.95 a year you can buy a Pro account and not see ads. Other photo sharing sites remove limits when you buy a Pro account, not so on Zooomr. So if you don't mind the ads, you can get unlimited use. Please consider upgrading to a Pro account to help support their work, though.

They have other ideas to bring in revenue, the most innovative of which will be the Marketplace. You'll be able to sell your pictures for stock use. You set the price, and Zooomr will keeep a 10% commission. Compare that to other stock sites and you'll see it's a pretty good deal. They expect the Marketplace to be up in three months or so.

The new Zooomr has some community features as well, the most prominent of which is the Zipline. Think of it as Twitter on steroids. Well, that's not the best comparison as it fills a slightly different function from Twitter. Your latest pictures are posted to the Zipline for your contacts to see. And you can also make short Twitter-like posts.

There are still bugs to work out and new features to be activated, but you really should check Zooomr out for your photo hosting needs.
