What I'm learning about my photography
One of my current projects is to duplicate my pictures on Zooomr to Flickr and vice-versa. Why? The main reason is that I don't want all my pictures in one place. Or even worse, to have one service go down and lose part of my pictures. (Yes, I have everything locally, plus backups. It's just standard paranoia.)
Another reason is that I'm tired of waiting on the Zooomr API. You know, it would figure that once I get all this done the API will go out the door. I asked for a ke ...

Zooomr is up!
Photosharing site Zooomr re-launched overnight.
There have been plenty of bugs to work out, and Kris has been going non-stop to fix them. The site is looking really good. One of the cool things about Zooomr (as opposed to other sites) is that you can upload an unlimited number of pictures at unlimited sizes for free. How do they make money? Ads, for one. For $19.95 a year you can buy a Pro account and not see ads. Other photo sharing sites remove limits ...

Zooomr is still ticking...
Zooomr has had a lot of help from Zoho.com, Sun Microsystems, Dell, and other companies. Robert Scoble spent part of the night with Kris down at the data center and it looks like they may get to flip the switch today.
Kris needs sleep first.
Best of luck to you, Zooomr!

Help a small startup, Pt. II
Well, this is cool. Zoho.com and Sun Microsystems have stepped up to help Zooomr out.
And boy, did the users step in as well! This afternoon there was $1500+ in their PayPal account. It's not a lot in terms of what they need (a server runs $25K or so I'm told), but it's a great effort by the community.
One thing I've discovered over the last few days is that Zooomr has a very dedicated group of users. This is yet another reason I'm pulling for them. I'd just love to see the little g ...

Help a small startup
You've probably seen photos here shared from Zooomr, a small photosharing service.
I've written about this company before. It's a small startup founded by Kristopher Tate, now 19 years old. Photographer and tech blogger Thomas Hawk is the CEO. He stepped in to help because he believes in this kid's vision.
I guess one reason I'm jazzed about this site is that it is just this kid. I've got an 18 year-ol ...

Tweaks time!
I've made a few tweaks to the page - rearranged some of the elements and added a Twitter badge. If you're on Twitter (or just want to check it out) click on the link at the bottom of the badge.
Chris' plane got in the air 20 minutes late. He left voice mail at the house while I was getting my contact lenses adjusted. Apparently the pilot's seat was broken. At least they got to wait in the lounge instead of having to sit on the plane.
Waiting for Zooomr ...
