I got out of the house yesterday! Don't faint.
We went to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History to catch the Star Wars Exhibit before it (and the museum) close down. Don't worry; the museum is coming back. It's been in the same spot since the 1940s and it's time for something shiny and new. I hope they keep this quote in the entrance:
Shooting was...interesting. Flash photography was allowed, but nearly everything was behind glass. Stir in a large crowd, and you have a recipe for a crummy photo shoot. I did manage a few decent shots:
Torture droid
Luke's Landspeeder
Yoda, it is
The other exhibit hall featured favorites from past exhibits. It was strange to see many of the same items that I remember from my first trip to the museum when I was eight - like these mastadon tusks:
We watched Space Cowboys the other day, so you can imagine what I was thinking when I saw this:
Fly Me to the Moon
I'll post more pictures during the week. If you want to take a look, check out the Zooomr photos link on the left.
Speaking of photos, I'm gratified that the picture I submitted to JPG magazine has a few votes. I'm sure the total is nothing compared to the many votes some of the more talented photographers get, but I'm happy just to have votes!
Well, back to work and the Monday laundry (thrill). If I have time, there may be a Nostalgia update later today.
