The last of a long, hot weekend

Here we are: Sunday night. I'm about to pop my contacts out, settle in with my usual evening beverage (water on the rocks), and open a book. Hopefully I'll fall asleep sooner than later tonight.

We accomplished a few minor things, but mostly did a whole lot of nothing. After our late Friday, we got up early on Saturday to visit the electronics flea market. Got a few odds and ends. We probably spent a grand total of $20, but one of the items has a retail of about $30, so we did just fine, thank you very much.

Watched the last Dr Who last night. Oh, my. David Tennant is absolutely amazing. Watched the last episode of this series for Lewis tonight. Kevin Whately just gets better and better. The writing is crisp, the acting sharp. Just what I love in a drama.

Also got a little bit done here in the office. I can see part of my desk! I have a few ideas for making better use of my space and I hope I'm awake enough tomorrow to get busy on that.

Still trying to get all the smoke out of my lungs. The cold water before bed should help a bit with clearing some of the cough - I hope.

Speaking of smoke, here's one more picture from Friday. The field just dodged a heck of a downpour, but we got a rainbow out of it. I just happened to snap this picture at just the right moment. A heck of a Roman candle, eh?

Alrighty, it's off to bed and book. Hope you had a great long weekend.

Dr who discussion-no spoilers here! Did you like the episode? I've seen it, but was wondering if you liked it or not. Sounds like fan reaction was mixed.

No spoilers.

Well, ultimately I liked it. I suspect it left more questions hanging than it answered. And the last ten minutes seemed a bit rushed.

Oh, yeah: And the sound you heard at the end was the mass explosion of the brains of every teen fangirl on the planet. Stay away from fanfiction.net if you value your sanity. ;-) (That will only make sense to people who saw the ending, I hope.)
