Apologies for the rather cryptic tweets and the like yesterday. As I mentioned in a previous post, the day started out fine, then one thing after another happened. It kind of capped off a week of events outside of my control. One or two I can handle, but this was a barrage. I might see some light at the end of the tunnel (or, perhaps, a train) early next week. It would help if the air around here was better. Again, I can't control the fires or the wind. It's be cool, though. (The amazing Rachel Caine has that angle covered.)

I was going to just take the afternoon off, but ended up doing one thing I could control - putting some finishing touches on a design job. That was satisfying.

I wasn't kidding about the vacation. I think there's a time when we just need to step back away from work and the pressures of life. Unfortunately, life isn't playing fair right now. If I had my choice I'd kick it in the nuts and celebrate with a tall, cold drink. Not gonna happen. However, I suspect there will be the learning of more stress management techniques in my future.

Doctor Midnight suggests some calming therapy:

Looks like it worked for her.
