...that an author spends money printing their book, buying tables at conventions, working to get on programming at said conventions, crafting nifty displays for their tables, crafting costumes to call attention to themselves, classy web sites, social marketing, book trailers and ad nauseum, and yet does not spend money or effort on editing or cover art?
