Yesterday Writer Beware wrote about a site called The Write Agenda. John Scalzi picked up on it and added a few thoughts of his own.
I'm not going to add to this except to say that some anonymous commenter spewed vitriol and left a message of support for the TWA in the (misspelled) name of a friend of mine.
As a former journalist I strongly believe in the right of anonymous comment. I also believe that with that right comes responsibility. Anonymous comment that simply does nothing but attack has little credibility in my book. Anonymous comment designed to attribute an opinion to someone else, particularly if that person may not share that opinion, is wrong. Even when I agree with the sentiment, I disagree with the tactic.
What do I think of The Write Agenda? I think I'll let you decide for yourself whether or not they're credible.
