Monday Mumblings

Back to a schedule...of sorts. I hope.

I'm watching the coverage of the building collapse in Manhattan. As scary as it looks, there appear to be no deaths which is quite fortunate. The odd twist: There may be a suicide attempt involved.

Spent much of the weekend down with a stomach bug. I'm still a little punky today, but at least I'm past the rolling waves of nausea and fever. With all the trips I've made to doctor's offices lately, I guess it's no surprise that I've managed to pick up a bug.

I tend to read when I'm under the weather. I'm already a voracious reader, but when I get lost in a book I tend to get my mind off of how I feel. I finished Cat in a Quicksilver Caper, the new Midnight Louie mystery from Carole Nelson Douglas. I won't give anything away, but I didn't see THAT ending coming. A couple of hours later I realized that she had planted a clue or two.

I also dug into Stephen King's On Writing, a book I should have red years ago.

Amazingly, I did manage to get a few things done. As much as I wish for a day of doing nothing but lazing around in bed, I can't bring myself to really stay there. I expect I'll take it easy again today, so there may be no picture. We'll see how I feel. Since it's Monday I've still got work for a client and a pile of laundry including the comforter I washed just last Friday. Midnight left yet another gift - this time at 3:15 this morning. She was at my feet and I pushed her off the bed. Apparently she jumped right back up and left the present at Paul's feet. Am I supposed to feel honored that she wants to leave a gift at my feet? I just feel more nauseous.
