We have a saying in Texas: If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes.

Once again, the nasty stuff hit near the end of House. We missed the end and hope our local FOX station will schedule a rebroadcast as they did before. Our ABC station immediately scheduled a repeat of Boston Legal.

I grabbed a book and divided my attention between it and the radar. We watched some nasty-looking rotation marching our direction. The weather guy did his computer tracking thing and it looked as though we would be on the bad side of things in about 20 minutes. Well, what to do? Believe it or not, we did nothing. I knew that it wouldn't take but a minute to grab the comforter and pillows off of the bed and hunker down in the hallway. That may sound a bit casual, but these storms can do anything - and this one did. The rotation moved to the south (unusual), then popped on and off the radar - and then vanished for good. We got some good, soaking rains out of it, though. We're still under stage 3 watering restrictions and probably will be for some time to come.

Just ran out to get the paper and got what look to be a couple of nifty shots of the smoke tree. I'll try and get them online before I have to leave the house in a few minutes.
