What is your favorite thing about winter? Whether you love this time of year, hate it or merely endure it, you should be able to find something good to say about the season. What is it?
I think "endure" just about sums it up. The winters here in North Texas are generally mild, but don't do my sinuses a lot of good. I end up with a seemingly perpetual sinus infection. There is a good side to that, though: In spite of my ongoing weight issues, I rarely gain weight over the holiday season. In fact, I often manage to drop a couple of pounds. I guess it's because my sinuses are so clogged up that I can't smell, which means food doesn't taste as good, which means I eat less. I suppose I can't argue with that - too much.
I suppose winter is a time when I tend to get things done. Since I'm stuck in side so much there's a little extra time to take care of various projects. Heck, I even get a little house cleaning done. The horror! This winter my project is organizing photos. I suspect that I'll just make a dent in it. I've been shooting SLR for 30 years and I have tons and tons of prints and negatives. A lot of the negatives are filed - at least up to 1989 when Chris was born. Then everything just got stuffed in boxes and drawers. Now that we've inherited a collection of old family pictures, something must be done.
Extra credit: What do you hate most about winter? As stated above, the never-ending sinus infection.
