We caught the Dresden Files unaired pilot over the weekend. The Sci-Fi Channel was apparently so unimpressed with it that they aired it yesterday at 2:00 in the morning. We set the PVR to record and watched the show last night.
I wanted to weep.
The pilot was good. Someone had a flippin' clue. The pilot ran for two hours, and was fairly true to the spirit - if not the letter - of the book. Bob was a skull, though voiced by Terrance Mann. We got a glimpse of the Blue Beetle. Murphy was less of a skeptic than she was in the series.
Had the rest of the shows been this good I'd have been a very happy camper. Instead, we got watered-down Dresden.
Oh, I forgot: This is the network that thinks wrestling is good entertainment for SF fans.
Pardon me while I bang my head on the desk for a while.
Ah. Nope, didn't help. Excuse me ....
Oh, fuggidabout it.
So then we decided to watch SNL. Made it through half an hour and didn't laugh at all. Am I just getting old, or is it that unfunny?
Wonder if there's anything else good on the PVR?
