One year ago, writers banded together to release works on the web. For free.

It was all in protest of a remark by the then-outgoing VP of the SFWA, calling people who gave their work away free on the web "webscabs."

In the year since then, several major publishers have given away e-book versions of popular novels for a limited time. So far, they seem to stimulate sales. And that's the idea. Business on the web is different, to a certain extent. Writers are proving that it's possible to give away work without giving away the farm.

So, in honor of that, I am posting Night of the Vampire Scare as an e-book. The book has been out of print for some time, so the only way to get the story up until now was to find a used copy.

Enjoy!
