I flounced out of a forum.
And boy, did it hurt. I hope I'm one of those people who take the high road. I appreciate a good debate. I can agree to disagree. Yet, I draw the line at personal attacks.
This was a wonderful community. I made several dear friends. Yet, one bully ruined it for me. I suspect I could have agreed wholeheartedly with something he said and he still would have found a reason to berate me for having an opinion.
I'm sad about this, because it used to be a great place to hang out. There are still people over there that I want to keep in toch with. I sent a note to the moderator explaining my actions.
I suppose the bully won. He got what he wanted.
That's wrong.
Sure, I could have stuck around. In fact, I did. I tried. I really did. I left for a while to cool. off. I lurked. Yet, when I offered a considered opinion I was attacked. There comes a point when I just have to stop banging my head against the wall.
I'll probably shed a tear or two over it. Seriously. I love most of the people there.
I've been hanging around a bit at a new discussion group started by someone who got fed up long before I did. Perhaps I'll spend more time there. Not all of the members from the original group joined, so I split my time between both of them. I'll probably continue to lurk on the old group once in a while because I do get some news over there, but I'm going to do my best to restrain myself from posting.
I hate to do that. I probably look like a real jerk for flouncing out like I did, but it's all I can stands, I can stands no more.

Hi, Julie. I quit the board in question quite a while back. I got pretty sick of it all. I check in once in a while, and I found that particular post you're talking about. I see he's the same as he ever was. It's too bad. I have peeked at the other board, but just couldn't get interested. Maybe you'll have better luck. As is, I'm sorry you left, but not surprised. He the one that caused the big dust up when I finally decided to quit (and that has been a few years ago). I do miss the few old timers, before it was invaded by obnoxious buffoons.
Ah well. I know Becks had a forum at one time, but I don't know (or have forgotten) where it is.
