A Change in the Weather

At last, it feels like Fall. Right now it's 64F and overcast. I've got the back door open even though it's playing havoc with allergies. I have to air the place out.
I've spent the last few days on a web site makeover for someone. I hope the client likes it. This is the first writer site I've done (beyond mine), and it's been a bit of a challenge. Every time I look at it, I see more tweaks. But not today. I'm done in.
I also felt like I should add just a little to my remarks from last night. The president is only the person at the top of the government. There are all of the departments in the Executive branch, plus the Legislative and Judicial branches to contend with. It's a lumbering, hulking machine.
A lot of things can change by executive fiat. The next president can order an end to illegal wiretapping, the spying on our own people, and maybe even smack down the TSA just a bit. But I hold no illusions that real change will take place quickly.
I'm sorry, but I don't see McCain has being able to move in and fix some of the failed policies that got us here in the first place. He's not a knee-jerk conservative, but the debate last night scared the crap outta me. Putting "health of the mother" in air quotes honestly made me cringe. I agree that it's something that should be better defined, but the way he put it made a mockery of the situation.
And you know what? I'm feeling very tired for the first time in days. Perhaps I'll be able to sleep tonight. Yay.
