Support an Screwed Over Author - Buy A Book

No, that screwed over author isn't me.
I mentioned last night that I planned to buy a copy of Leviathan, and today I did. Scott Westerfeld's book is published by Simon & Schuster, which is an imprint of Macmillan. Here's the link at Borders, where I happened to make the purchase. Why Borders?
A few reasons. One, I wanted to buy it - today - as a show of support for a Macmillan author. Two, it's a struggling brick-and-mortar chain. Three, I was there anyway. They had a good deal on a book Chris needs for one of his classes. (A mass-market book on Photoshop as a college textbook. Yay!)
It's a YA book, but it looks to be full of steampunky goodness. Oh, and it's gorgeously illustrated by Keith Thompson.
One thing I want to reiterate is that Amazon took the buy buttons on print books down in a dispute over ebooks. No matter which side is right it's wrong to make authors pay.
So buy a book if you can. Buy a paperback. Buy a hardback that's deeply discounted. Forget your Starbucks for the week and buy a book, please. And not Two of the Deadliest - unless you really, really want to. That would be sweet, but we're not the ones being screwed over right now.
Thank you.
