The Long, Hot Saturday

It's 100F right now (down from 104F). Yesterday's high was 108. 104 is balmy, yes? Uh, no. It's 84F in the home office. They say southern girls don't sweat: they perspire. Heck, no. I'm sweating. Of course, I'm staying hydrated, so it would be a bad thing if I didn't sweat.

It hasn't been THAT bad of a day. Well, at least until I discovered I'd totally fracked up something that is supposed to go live on a web site Real Soon Now (TM). After much wailing and gnashing of teeth I managed to get it fixed.

We had a yummy Tex-Mex brunch, then took off into Dallas to pick up a new (to us) mixer at a pawn shop. Paul's playing with it today. It looks like a pretty nice piece of gear, and the price was right. I hope it works out for us. The mixer has recording and editing capabilities built in, meaning we can work on the mix before we send it out to the computer for final editing. It should make for better quality recordings of our shows.

Our next stop was the Half Price Books flagship store, since we were in the neighborhood. We didn't spend much, but it was a fun diversion as always.

Then home to discover the many errors of my coding ways. (Damnit, Jim! I'm a writer, not a programmer. But this helps pay the bills, so I shouldn't complain.)

Looking at the clock, it's about time for the British programming lineup on our local PBS station. Time to step away from the computer and relax for the evening.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I fully intend to enjoy mine.
