Wow, what a busy weekend here at the Manor. Saturday we took Paul to the airport for a business trip overseas. Sunday we watched a majorly rain-delayed ballgame in which the Rangers won. Yesterday's game was postponed due to field conditions, but they played today. The game stretched 11 innings and ended with Nelson Cruz' grand slam homer. What made it really sweet was that Cruz had been hit by a wild pitch on his last at bat, grazing a wrist and slamming into his chest. After being looked at by the trainers he took first base, and then came back for the grand slam in the 11th. Wow!
It's also been cat torturing time. As both of my readers know, "torture" is in the eye of the beholder. Abby is suffering from hot spots again. The first stage of treatment is the "torture" spray. Since that didn't work, we escalated to The Cone of Abject Humiliation. If she doesn't get any better in a few days, then we have to put her in Kitty Jail. This means blocking off the utility room and keeping her in there, away from most dust and pollen. When we have her there we have a mesh cover for the doorway so air can circulate and she can see out.
Here she is tonight, after having conned me out of some good steak:
She was so satisfied she fell asleep on the perch!
I've also spent part of the weekend getting caught up on a project that's been stalled for a couple of months to do other obligations, and fighting a cold/allergy/something that's been dogging me (if the cats will pardon the expression) for a couple of weeks. I think I've finally turned the corner on that one. Much rejoicing.
Off to watch some telly and then hit the sack.
