If you're desperate to get published, take a chill pill. With few exceptions the process of getting a manuscript turned into a real book takes a very long time. This of course, is assuming you have a contract in hand. The process of getting someone to actually read and/or represent you work can take ages. Miss Snark is right: Submit your first ms. and then go work on the second in the meantime.
