Short entry and today's picture will be from the archives. I'm still working on the Asp.NET 2.0 stuff and have little energy anyway.

The crud still creeps. I'm not up to doing much today, and I have to go pitch something this afternoon, so I'm not inclined to push myself.

As I work I'm listening to some book readings on BBC7. Probably not the best thing to listen to while I work, yet there's something about certain British accents that I absolutely love. I've had this infatuation since I was a kid. Today I'm listening to readings by Stephen Tompkinson and Kevin Whately. You might know Stephen Tompkinson from Ballykissangel or Brassed Off. Kevin Whately would best be known to American audiences as Lewis in the Inspector Morse programs.

So what is it about British accents? I can say the same about most Irish and Scots accents. I was exposed to the good stuff at an early age - Sean Connery pre-Bond. My mother had a recording of Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Okay, it was Disney, but it starred Sean Connery. I wonder if that's one reason I took to Bond so quickly, although I never connected to the two until I was in college and found the record tucked away in a box. So I suppose that's what started it.

Well, it's back to work. Hopefully I'll have a redone site to show soon...
