I thought for a moment I'd found a famous ancestor, but it turns out the "Uncle Walt" referred to by the sender is the nickname for poet and syndicated columnist Walt Mason.
However, it does turn out that some of my ancestors knew him well enough for his wife to ask them to call on him at the grand new house he'd built to replace the one in the post card.
