This is the view out my front door:
Lovely weather today. Presently it's 19F with light snow. The road is a solid sheet of ice. In a bizarre twist, the freeways aren't too bad because the state sent in extra de-icing trucks and crews for Super Bowl week. I'm sure the Steelers and Packers fans from up north are laughing at our reluctance to go out in this stuff. The truth is, we get so little of it that most folks around here don't have any experience driving on the stuff - much less equipment like snow tires, chains, and the like. So yes, it's really for the best that we shut down for a little snow.
