The cats may be getting jealous. I've been keeping an eye on the dove off and on over the past few days. This morning she let me in close for a few shots:

This afternoon there were a lot of kids playing around and screaming, and when I went to check on her she flew off. I went back in and grabbed the camera to get a few shots of the nest. The highlights are a little blown out on these. Considering I can't see the top of the nest and I didn't want to spend more than half a minute grabbing shots, I think they came out okay.

I suppose the shots could have been worse: the nest is on the west side of the house, but the cloud cover helped filter the light a bit.
Today Chris and I moved all of the plants out on to the patio and repotted a few Aloe babies. Much to my surprise I discovered that the honkin' huge Aloe plant has a bud! I'll be shooting plants tomorrow, weather permitting.
We need to decide what to do with that plant. It was a real shock that it even survived the winter. It's getting so big that I decided to try to keep it outdoors. The first snow just about did it in. It's also going to have to be either repotted in that pot or in a larger pot. I've decided to wait until after the bloom dies out and the stalk dries before I do something.
If it rains in the Dallas area today you can blame me. I washed the car. Believe me, it needed it. I'm sure I'll go out tomorrow and find it covered with bird gifts, but at least I could drive it into the west (upper class) side of town today without undue embarrassment.
Well, it's about time to go start dinner. Chris has a pre-UIL rehearsal early tonight (in tux!) so I should have something on the table when he gets home from his bowling league.
