Monday Photo Shoot

Make a moody picture.

Alone

This was shot at the Hall of State at the Texas State Fairgrounds. The day was gray and rainy, and the scene was just begging for a picture. I converted the picture to B&W and spent some serious time tweaking.

A couple of notes: The body language suggests depression, but he was actually looking over some shots he'd taken with his camera. Personally, this is one of my favorite pictures. It makes me feel slightly nostalgic for my darkroom - until I realize that I'd have spent days fiddling with the negative and probably still wouldn't have had the same results that I achieved after a few hours at the computer. Plus, my knees thank me. Even with a carpet strip in the work area, that cement floor was murder on my joints!

Nice! It makes me miss the old days of darkroom work as well. I don't even take pictures as art any longer. This photo is a good inspiration to go shopping for a camera. Thanks.

Oh, Julie. That's one of the best shots I've seen from you yet. Very nice - very Deco. And I like the small human figure breaking the symmetry.

Sometimes when I look at pictures I've tried to take, I get depressed... so that pic worked for me, even after the explanation.
