The Closest I'll Probably Ever Get To A Hugo Award...
A while back I promised an announcement, as soon as all of the pieces fell into place. Here ya go: I'll be in charge of the Hugo Awards Ceremony for LoneStarCon 3. That's the 2013 World Science Fiction Convention.

Three of my friends were up for RT awards, and they all won!
P.N. Elrod, friend since college days, was named Pioneer of Genre Fiction. Pat's "Vampire Files" series was one of the first to feature a "good guy" vampire.

I'm breaking computer silence to mention that the 2010 Hugo Awards Nomination list is up at the Aussiecon4 site. And there's some very exciting news for FenCon and our friends:
Our Artist Guest of Honor John Picacio has been nominated for Best Pro Artist.

The Hugos are out!
Steven Moffat won for the Dr. Who episode, The Girl in the Fireplace, and Patrick Nielsen Hayden won for Best Editor, long form. Patrick is one of the people behind the Making Light blog, linked on the left of the main journal page.
John Scalzi missed out on the best fan writer award. Sorry, John. I'd have voted for you had I been eligible.
