Sometimes you get what you need
The House soundtrack has a MySpace page. Warning: Music starts up immediately, but what music! It's Hugh Laurie singing You Can't Always Get What You Want
The soundtrack hits the streets September 18th. Oh, I can't wait. Chris wishes I'd quit playing it, already, though! ;-)

Emmy nominations
I was glad to see that Hugh Laurie didn't get snubbed again this year. That man deserves an Emmy, but he's up against some good competition again this year, including James Spader and Dennis Leary.
House was nominated for the best drama again, and David Morse picked up a nom for his Tritter role. There's also a prosthetics nomination. Sadly, no writing nod this year.
The Primetime Emmys will be handed out September 16th.

Falling off the 'ship
I got another e-mail in my inbox today begging me to sign a petition to force the producers of House to bring back the love interest between House and Cameron.
That is so not going to work. First, I'll list some reasons why this isn't a good idea, and then I'll tell you what to do if you still want to express your displeasure.
Online petitions do not work. Anyone can sign a petition as many times as they want. There is no good mechanism to prevent that from happe ...

Are we awake?
On my third cup of coffee this morning and I'm not terribly sure whether or not I'm awake. I may be dead tired, but I'll be wired.
That's what got me into this mess in the first place. The remnants of the cold linger on, and last evening I felt a bit trying to settle into my lungs. I've got this one lung with pneumonia scarring (from childhood) and there's a particular spot that hurts when I'm out in the cold or when something nasty hits the lungs. I decided rather than take any chances I' ...

Taking a deep breath...
...before I go back under.
Only managed about 100 words today. Oh, well. That's better than zero words, right?
It's time for one of my (almost) regularly-scheduled crises. They always come up when I've got a major project in the wings or a show in the offing. Let's see: There's a show this weekend (check) and I'm getting ready to pitch another script (checkaroonie). Yep, it's time for a visit to Crisis City. Just when I should be oozing with confidence, said feelings drain lik ...

Dead tired
Yesterday I woke up at six and couldn't get back to sleep; this morning it was four.
Yawn.
The rain has moved out, and so far we've had four inches of rain this month. While that's double what we usually get in October, we're still four inches down on the year. This drought started last year, so we're still way behind. It's going to take about 20" of rain to even catch up. That is, if I read the weater data correctly.

Busy day
Got to catch up on some work for a client and cut lots and lots of fabric today. Busy, busy, busy.
The new season of House starts tonight. In preparation for that I've been doing some stuff over at . HouseFans.net. I'm not nearly finished with what I need to do, but perhaps this afternoon. Yeah, right.
Got a picture to post, then must crack the virtual whip!

Busy morning
If you've come looking for the Round Robin Photo Challenge, please scroll down to the next entry.
I thought I'd do a quick update after yesterday's head-pounding experience. The annual torture session went okay, and the headache finally subsided. I found a new shower head at Target, which we installad late last night.
I also picked up the House Season Two DVD set. Alas, I couldn't find A Bit of Fry and Laurie anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if Fry's gets it in soon. T ...

Just a quickie tonight (get your head out of the gutter!)
Well, I'm back to seeing doctors. Nothing major; just routine screening exams for women at my age. I've also got to get a relative to the doctor in a couple of days for what I hope will be her last visit. So yeah, I've had other things on my brain.
I did do some things in Chris' room yesterday. He was Not Amused. Part of it was checking for more ants, and as such I refuse to apologize. There were no ants, but I had to check around furniture that had not been moved before.
More work ...
