I'm making a few changes to the site. Mainly updating a few things here and there. You may not even notice some of the changes. At any rate, the site is in serious need of updating, and I plan to squeeze that task in over the coming weeks.

Back to Blogging? Again?
Geez, this is harder than it should be. The fractures in social media definitely make me want to go back to the journal, and I am going to try!
Life has been darn near as fractured as social media. I'll spare you the complaints. But let's see what I can do here.

Updating the Social Media Thing
It's getting so you can't tell the players without a program!
My current social media list is on the sidebar.
Still trying to get into BlueSky. Clearly, I am not one of the cool kids. My request has been languishing like, forever.
Edit: And I see my Tweets aren't showing up. Why am I not surprised?

Comments Are Back!
A couple of weeks or so ago the journal got hit by a comment bot. I think I've got it fixed now, but for now comments are going to be approved by hand.
I hate to do that, but I can't spend hours cleaning up from a bot attack, either.
This isn't an attempt to stifle comment, but I do appreciate you reading and adhering to the comment terms.

Well. It seems that when I went in and tried to restore the commenting code that I completely borked a few things. I was working on them on a local copy of the journal, but I guess I moved the pages out by mistake. Sorry about that.

Back to Blogging?
I've been meaning to revive the blog, and maybe it's time. The latest news of Elon Musk buying Twitter makes me want to consolidate back to my home turf. This isn't about Musk per se, mind you. I'm just more and more frustrated with all the crap going on with social media.
But what do you do? My Facebook and YouTube channels are how I connect with potential customers, and potential income. I've made some good friends via Twitter, so I guess I'm not ready to give it up. ...

More Journal Housekeeping Stuff
Yes, I suspect only two people (if that many) might be interested in the nuts and bolts of what goes on under the virtual hood, but I need to document this to some extent.
Latest updates include a small typography change and (finally!) the ability to turn off comments to a post. Spambots love to ferret out old posts and leave comments in hopes that the blog owner won't notice. I've also noticed that when one old post gets a spam comment that it tends to get more.
