Lessons Learned From (About) Ten Years of Art Shows
I participated in my first convention art show in 2009. I did it on a whim, and I sold out. Completely. This is a feat I have never duplicated since. But hey, these art shows have helped through some tough times.

Over the last few years, though, it's become evident to me that I ne ...

So You Want To Be A Convention Panelist?
Yep, it's time for my annual(ish) guide to becoming a panelist at conventions. The short version is that it's not as easy as you think. The long version is based on years of attending and running cons. I've attended - and helped run - all sizes of cons. But I don't speak for any con I now run or hav ...

SoonerCon Wrap-Up
SoonerCon celebrated their 25th convention this weekend, and boy, did they pull out the stops! Kudos to the entire committee for another excellent event!

SoonerCon is my con home away from home. FenCon is always my home con, but since I hel ...

My ConDFW Schedule
I'm going to be a busy lady this weekend. In addition to manning the Steam Cat table in the gallery, I'll be on several programming items:

4:00pm in The Gallery: The Really Mad Hatters
Yeah, I think I qualify for that one. We'll talk about the proces ...

...And I'd Like to Thank My Ballet Teacher...
This post is two years in the making. Two years ago I was running the Hugo Ceremony at LoneStarCon 3. And I promised to post at least one cool picture I was handed afterward. So here, at last:

My ConDFW Schedule
Forgot to post this. Pardon the typos, but I made one of my patent-pending klutzy moves last night, and I'm still waiting on the sodium naproxen to kick in.

In addition to the programming, I'll have stuff in the Art Show, and I'll also have a table in the Dealers Room. Pleas ...

SoonerCon schedule
Next weekend is SoonerCon. It's one of our favorite conventions, and this year looks like fun. When isn't it? I hope I never find out.

I'll have items in the Art Show. Bid early and bid often, either on my items or those by any of the fine artists in attendance.
